Areas of Interest

After completing a fellowship in science at The Government College in Lahore, Pakistan, Dr. Munir received his medical degree from King Edward Medical College, Mayo Hospital, in Lahore. Following an internal medicine residency in Pakistan, he came to the United States for an internship at New York Medical College’s Mount Vernon Hospital. Dr. Munir then completed a residency in internal medicine at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital at Columbia University in New York, New York, and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York.

Dr. Munir began his career as a therapeutic endoscopist at Memorial Medical Center in Port Lavaca, Texas. He began his gastroenterology practice with Austin Diagnostic Clinic in Austin, Texas, and most recently worked with Gastroenterology Associates, Pennsylvania, in Round Rock, Texas.

He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association. Dr. Munir has a special interest in endoscopic procedures, particularly therapeutic ERCPs. For the second consecutive year, he was named to Atlanta magazine's 'Top Doctors' guide in gastroenterology by Castle Connolly Medical, Ltd.

He joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2011.
